Founded in 1962, this cozy restaurant gathered, for years, important aspects of the artistic and cultural life of Belo Horizonte, influencing people in terms of humanistic and political experiences. The food? Delicious, with a reasonable price.

Stronghold of intellectuals, artists or simply bohemians, the Cantina do Lucas showcases a menu full of traditional cuisine with a touch of international food such as the Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Mr. Olympio Munhoz, longest-lived waiter in the Brazilian history, worked there. He was immortalized by the Guinness Book of Records.
Eat, eat, eat! My favorite dish is “Surprise à Moda”, a fillet stuffed with ham and cheese, accompanied by risotto, banana, fries and two fried eggs.
