Founded on september 26th, 1897, its original project, designed in english romantic style, was signed by the french architect Paul Villon. In 1992, the park was restored by a mining company.

Our Lady of Good Voyage Cathedral

Erected in 1932, this temple was consacrated to the Our Lady of Good Voyage. In 1709, the portuguese Francisco del Rey arrived in Belo Horizonte, bringing with him a statue of that saint, patroness of the portuguese navigators. He settled down. To honor and protect the image, he built a small temple, later demolished to erect the current church.
