Belo Horizonte has no beach, but its citizens are proud to have the biggest craft market in Latin America, a true sea of crafts. On Sunday mornings, the vehicles traffic on part of the Afonso Pena Avenue is interrupted, giving place to almost 2.200 craft stalls, attending around 80.000 visitors.

It used to be hippie, but not anymore. Despite of its name, the crafts sold at this open air market have not much to do with the 60’s hairy guys. But you’ll find almost every type of hand made goods: souvenirs, toys, furniture, clothes, shoes, sandals, imitation jewelry, paintings... phew! And street food too (yum)! It’s a MUST DO in BH City!
Be careful with your belongings! Although policing has increased at the fair area, preventing is the best thing to do.
