Although we natives politely eat and value every food, we don't have formal rituals for the main meals. Usually, we eat a single dish, and the "prato feito" (ready made dish) – or PF – is one of the best versions of this simple meal. At Jorge Americano, customers find nice and varied PFs prepared according to local recipes.

At Jorge Americano, the PFs are basicaly served with rice and beans and one type of meat. Depending on the recipe, different ingredients are added, such as angu (type of polenta), wild cabbage, vinaigrette and farofa (manioc flour dish). But the most special thing is Jorge's enthusiasm for América F.C., a second division soccer team. Poor man!
Natives' favorite PFs are feijoada and tropeiro (heavy food). You better order these! Try it with Mate Couro, a famous soft drink made in the city.
