The Minas Gerais Museum (Museu Mineiro, in portuguese) is one of the most representative museums in the state. It showcases a collection constituted in distinct periods of the formation of Minas Gerais, preserving, researching and disseminating the records of the local culture.

Its collection brings together around of 2,600 pieces, divided between sacred art, paintings, sculptures, documents, furnitures, household items, instruments of work and punishment, armories, among others. The museum is part of the Liberty Circuit, a cultural complex formed by 12 institutions.
At lunchtime, don't miss the delectable buffet of the Magnolia Restaurant, located in the outer area. It's also a cafe (mon-sun, 11am-19pm).
