Citizens of Belo Horizonte pride themselves to have the stunning Pampulha Lagoon, another magnificent project conceived by the renowned brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. To increase the beauty of the place, the architect added to his ambitious plan some superb buildings along the banks of the lagoon.

Why you should visit it
Besides the lagoon and its famous buildings, the area is surrounded by beatiful houses and gardens. The lagoon is huge, it would take a few hours to get around it, but by car is piece of cake. Whether by foot or by car, you MUST stop by the main sights: the Saint Francis of Assisi Church, the Dance House, the Iate Clube and the Pampulha Art Museum.
Special tip
At night, the lights reflecting on water draw bright strokes, creating an unique spectacle. An invitation for a night walk shall not be declined!
