The penniless youngsters adore it! At the Rei do Pastel (King of Pastry) they can refresh themselves with icy and cheap beers, indulge their stomachs with inexpensive savory snacks (pastel… yum!) and have a blast on the sidewalk until 5:40 in the morning. BTW, wealthy people love it too!

Why you should visit it
There’s nothing to be afraid of! It is ugly, but loved. The Rei do Pastel is one of the most democratic bars (actually a snack bar) in Belo Horizonte. It is a 24/7 place, where bohemians of varied ages stop by to end the night with low budget food and drinks and lots of fun. I myself do it a lot!
Special tip
To use the bathroom, ask for the waiter, who will show you the tight staircase that leads to the toilet. Ok, it's ugly and rough, but we love it!
