This little market used to be giant in the 70’s, when my mom was still a teen. Now it’s just the place where the 70’s kids spend their thursdays nights eating traditional food and spending time. It’s the best place to find an acarajé, tradicional brazilian meal, in the middle of the week.
First, acarajé. Acarajé is one our tradicional snacks and you shouldn’t leave Brazil without trying it. Trust me, you won’t find it in other country. Second, Santa Tereza is one of the most traditionals neighbourhoods of our town. It’s mostly inhabited by seniors, and although this people probably don’t speak english, they will make you feel home.
You should take a look on the military quarter right behind the market, you’ll find one of the most famous and biggest squares of our town.
