Hamburger Bahnhof

Why locals love it

Here's where we go to see Warhol's Mao and we are proud of having him here! Otherwise there's Beuys and Liechtenstein and many other less prominent but nonetheless must-see exhibits within a building of fascinating architecture.

Why you should visit it

Once an actual railway station, then a railway museum, the Hamburger Bahnhof is now one of Berlin's most comprehensive museums for contemporary art. There are permanent exhibitions of the various collections the Hamburger Bahnhof hosts, and rotating exhibition of other contemporary art.
