Döner Kebab (meat-filled Turkish bread) is sold on every corner in Berlin. However, few succeed in giving it such a fine, mildly sour taste as Tekbir. As everywhere in Berlin you can choose from a variety of sauces to go with it: Kräuter (herbs)/sesame, Knoblauch (garlic) or scharf (spicy).
Even though it was invented by Turkish immigrants, Döner Kebap and its veggie alternative falafel (chickpea balls) are at least as local a dish as Currywurst. As you should try it at least once in your visit to Berlin it's best to do so in a quality place like Tekbir.
Try the "Dürüm" variety, which comes with a different, tastier sort of bread.
