Nothing is better than when you have tour guides who are engaging, know (and love) what they're showing you and you learn and see a lot. This is what the guides at Fat Tire Berlin were like, except better! Our guide Derek was a fantastic guide and Craig was both a friend and a port of knowledge when helping make our stay in Berlin (overall and not just the tour) as comfortable and great as possible. We saw basically everything we wanted in a short amount of time and saw and learnt a lot of things we would never have by ourselves which i think is the priceless thing about getting good tours! To paint a better picture we were recommended this place by a friend who raved about it! Thanks guys! You're the best!

Description

E-bikes are cool, comfortable and modern. Electric power-assist technology allows you to ride faster, smoother and further without breaking a sweat.

On this tour we’ll see Berlin’s top attractions, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag building and Checkpoint Charlie as well as thought-provoking monuments and memorials to the city’s turbulent past. We’ll also venture further afield to explore Berlin’s biggest park – the former Tempelhof Airport. Cycling along old runways on an e-bike is a truly memorable experience! We’ll then ride through picturesque scenery at Tiergarten and along Kurfürstendamm – the main thoroughfare of what was once West Berlin.

All of our e-bike tours are lead by knowledgeable and entertaining guides who will not only share the history of Berlin with you, but also give you an insightful introduction to the best parts of the city. Interesting anecdotes, thought-provoking stories and lively discussions are all part of our tours. You’ll see more on this extended e-bike adventure than on any walking, bus or boat tour. It will be a highlight of your visit to the German capital!

I was only in Berlin for one day and this was by far the best way to see as much as I could! We had a fantastic English speaking guide who had a wealth of knowledge.. And could answer many questions. Bikes were in great nick and good fun to ride. The train station is also literally a minutes walk from the start so it couldn't be in a better location. Take some cash for lunch because we stopped at a beautiful beer garden with some traditional German food! Loved it!
Our minds were flooded with knowledge as our guide, Frederick (The Great) enlightened us with the tales of old. His majestic beard, the color of a fine Weizen Bier, glistened in the sun as he spoke.... But seriously, this tour was amazing. Freddy (the second hottest Red Beard on the tour ;) ), is informative and the perfect amount of informal. I watched as he took the time throughout the tour to approach each participant individually, asking them how their trip was going, where they were from etc. He is extremely easy going, willing to answer any questions, and will constantly check on the safety and wellbeing of all participants. I had forgotten how enjoyable riding a bike was. The ride through the park is particularly enjoyable. You stop for lunch at a beer garden which is a fantastic way to meet your fellow riders. I would definitely recommend this to people coming to Berlin. Do it on the first day to give you an idea of areas of the city you'd like to enjoy further. Ask for Freddy. It's like going on a bike ride with a good friend who happened to ingest an encyclopedia!
