We went on a four-day trip to Berlin as a couple. We have been in Berlin a couple of times before and wanted to experience the city in a new way. We have been recommended to do a Berlin walk tour. Since we both love food and likes to try new Things, we chose the Berlin Food Crawl. An amazing tasting experience, which brought us through the multicultural city Berlin is. Our guide - originally from the UK - was an amazing person with a lot of stories to tell. She was easy to understand, and we had a lot of interesting conversations about Berlin and food. She brought us to visit the oldest brewery in the World, restaurants with Classic german cuisine and dishes from the middle east, all with dishes we never tasted before - mühlentashe, german pizza, currywurst and the best cake and coffee. We couldn't have wished for more and after the tour we couldn't eat a bite more, for the rest of the day. We will highly recommend experiencing Berlin in a new way - the food way!

Description

Berlin’s food scene is booming! Join us on the Berlin Food Crawl on Fridays and Saturdays this summer and combine Berlin’s culinary delights alongside the history that brought them here.

Sample a traditional German dish, all washed down with a beer (or two) from the World’s oldest still-existing brewery. Explore the labyrinthine courtyards of Berlin’s Jewish district and sample locally sourced, locally produced mustards, honeys, booze, and sauces, and maybe grab a couple of jars or bottles to take home! Dive into the capital’s modern Turkish and Arabic traditions, and learn how a Turkish restaurateur accidentally created one of Germany’s most popular dishes, just because he wanted his customers to leave his restaurant!

Of course, no trip to the Hauptstadt would be complete without currywurst, savour the Berliners’ favourite dish and hear the competing, controversial tales of its creation. You’re in for a sweet surprise as we finish our tour with a tasty trip to a hallowed German bakery, or maybe some of the bestest, freshest ice cream on our hot summer days.

We'll finish the tour back at the startleaving you able to explore the historic district of Mitte.

Fantastic way to discover Berlin and the surrounding areas!
The company actually does a lot of tours and I have so far done two: The Original Berlin Tour (Guided byRyan) - If you've just landed in the city start with this one. I would call it a classic city tour. Hitler's Germany (Guided by Kevin) - a story about how the nazi gained power in Germany. Highly recommended if you are interested in the topic. It's a hard to digest tour but I am happy I did it. I have done a few walking tours in my life but I have never found them so engaging - both of them! Doing 2 more tours with them the following days and I am looking forward. UPDATE: So I have since done 3 more tours: Sachsenhausem with Rick - Fantastic guide in a heavily emotional place. Highly recommended. Potsdam with Jess - had a very fun day talking about kings and wannabe German palaces. And the best one - the food crawl with Alex. I was lucky enough to be alone. Great (and a lot!) of food, interesting view of Berlin and overall the best way to end my holiday!
Good and plenty food tour
I booked the Berlin food crawl through likealocal. The tour is actually one of many by originalberlinwalks.com. Good selection of places to eat and food to try. I especially liked the assortment at schoole and the vegan bakery. We were a small tour, only 5 people which was very nice. Incidentally, this was 10 euro cheaper booking through likealocal than advertised on the company's web site.
