Really enjoyed our tour with Jonathan today! We went on "Spies & Escapes" and our group (there were four of us) was the only one on the tour. Jonathan had so much knowledge and we learned a lot about the Berlin wall and German history. Couldn't have picked a better tour - would definitely recommend!

Highlights

Find out about life in East Berlin during the Cold War

Hear thrilling stories of successful escapes

Learn about the motivations and tactics of East German spies

Explore ghost stations and abandoned buildings

Visit Mauerpark – one of Berlin’s best spots to chill on Sundays

Description

Walking along the former East-West border, you’ll hear stories of daring escapes and failed attempts. At the cost of their lives, East Berliners braved the border – the Wall, the bullets and the beds of nails – all for the sake of freedom.

You’ll visit ghost stations, abandoned buildings and the sites of escape attempts, and see the remains of the original Wall as well as a recreated part of it. Passing by the Stasi guard tower, your guide will reveal the motivations and tactics of East German spies.

To leave you on a lighter note, the tour will end at Mauerpark, one of Berlin’s best spots to chill on Sundays.
