One tour, everything you need to know. Pioneered by our founding father, Terry Brewer, this six-hour circuit is the city’s most comprehensive walking tour.

Experience Berlin caught in the throes of Nazi megalomania, walk through a capital cut in two by the Cold War, marvel at the might of Prussia, explore hidden pathways in the former Jewish quarter, and learn how the traumatic legacy of the 20th century is weaved into the city’s fabric today.

This tour takes you to historical sights and attractions, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall, the Jewish Memorial, the site of Hitler’s bunker, Checkpoint Charlie, the Reichstag building, Museum Island, Gendarmenmarkt, the New Synagogue, the Jewish Quarter, former Nazi government ministries, and the Tiergarten urban park.

Along the way you’ll also get the chance to see some fantastic street art and modern architecture.

I lived in Berlin for a year in college, so I actually took the Brewer's Tour when I came to the city for the first time in 2003. Now, eleven years later, I was finally able to return to Berlin, and my husband and I took the tour again because I remembered being so impressed (and have recommended it to people since). My husband was....well...reluctant. He doesn't like walking, and wasn't excited about a 6 hour walking tour. I told him that if he was bored, he could leave after the first couple hours. Not only did he stay the entire time, but has since raved about it to other people whom we've met and are looking for a good tour in Berlin. (And it made it a lot easier to convince him to try another walking tour when we went to Prague.) Jonathan was our guide and - like the guide I had 10 years ago - did an excellent job of combining the history of Berlin (storied - Prussia to Bismark to Hitler to Stalin to present) with funny anecdotes and contemporary politics. He also gave us some tips on places to go and things to do. Jonathan also had a fabulous sense of humor - one that jived with my husband's particularly well....he was still quoting some of his lines/jokes a couple days later. Super happy to have gotten to tour with Jonathan - and from what I've experienced and heard, Jonathan is just one of the many great guides with Brewer's. 15 Euro for 6 hours of Berlin's history and sights? What a deal. (Just be sure to tip!!) Oh, and they have stops for bathrooms and food - so you won't go hungry. :)
This immense 6 hour walking tour of Berlin was one of the highlights of my Berlin visit. Our guide, Sam, had exceptional knowledge of the history of the city and interweaved historical facts about the major events of the city with some personal stories of people who live(d) there. To stand at major sites such as the Brandenburg Gate and listen to the causes, reasons and impact of Nazi Germany and the post-war split of the city (along with the country) was absolutely fascinating. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Berlin!
