Ryan did a great job showing us the important gay history of Berlin and also taught us about other important historic events including the fall of the wall. We enjoyed his sharing personal stories of his life in Berlin. We highly recommend this walking tour.

Berlin is the queer capital of Europe, having been at the forefront of the gay and lesbian rights movement since the late 19th century. This tour takes you on a colourful journey through two neighbourhoods; Kreuzberg, home of alternative culture, ethnic diversity, liberal politics; and Berlin’s own queer neighbourhood, Schöneberg, home of Marlene Dietrich and chronicled by Christopher Isherwood and Otto Dix.
After seeing one of Berlin’s oldest gay and transvestite bars frequented by the openly gay Nazi SA leader Ernst Röhm, we’ll visit the Memorial to Homosexuals Persecuted Under Nazism. Here you’ll discover how openly queer and transgendered individuals gained assistance from advocates such as Magnus Hirschfeld, whose Institute for Sexual Research was shut down in 1933, its library destroyed in the infamous Nazi book burnings.
Find out how queer figures, from Prussia’s King Frederick the Great to openly gay mayor Klaus Wowereit, have shaped the history of Berlin, a city that still believes a “kiss-in” to be the best form of protest. The tour concludes at the Gay Museum in vibrant Kreuzberg.

Finn deserves a pay rise! I loved that he included trans history in the tour - was expecting a much more 'gay-centric' view. As a trans person myself, this made a big difference. He was great at answering questions and has such a well-rounded knowledge of both Berlin and queer history. Can't wait to see what he does in the future.

A great tour
This was a really enjoyable tour with an energetic and knowledgeable guide. Over the tour we saw the best highlights of Berlin and got a history lesson at the same time! Highly recommend!
Very busy excursion!  Great impressions
Our guide almost  hadn't rest ... The excursion is mega saturated! We walked through all the points - from Museum Island to Checkpoint Charlie! The best way to learn Berlin, if you haven't time.
Great tour
I took this tour with Cesar, who although tours infrequently, was a very knowledgeable and informative guide. On the trip down to Sachsenhausen, he filled us in on a lot of the backstory of what led to the Third Reich, and during the tour he provided all manners of information, history, detail, and even anecdotes. He also allowed us a little bit of free time so that we could explore what interested us. Sachsenhausen is a difficult place to visit, but I was very impressed with Cesar and his presentation of the subject matter.
Ken from Irland was our guide. He was great. Knowlegable, funny and a fast walker😊👍🏻
Really great experience
It was a great experience. Our guide, Rick, was really enthusiastic and very, very knowledgeable. And it's a great way to discover parts of a city by walking.
