Our tour guide was John (JJ) and his love of Berlin is obvious. He was extremely knowledgeable, and his enthusiasm was contagious. His quirky sense of humor made the time fly by. I highly recommend beginning your trip to Berlin with this tour. JJ‘s mother Caroline should be proud!

Description

Delve into the history of Berlin on a tour that charts the city’s development from the time of the Teutonic Knights through to its key role in the major events of the 20th century: as capital of the Third Reich, as the divided city of the Cold War and as the modern capital of a unified Germany.

Stroll down Berlin's royal boulevard and retrace the city's evolution from a pagan fishing village to the capital of Prussia, a centre of the Enlightenment under Frederick the Great, a scene of Napoleonic occupation and the capital of Bismarck's German Empire.

Walk across the final battlefield of WWII and find out how the peculiar events surrounding the Reichstag fire led to the Nazis' rise to power in 1933.

Stand at the site of Hitler's bunker.

Visit one of the longest remaining sections of the Berlin Wall left standing.

Discover the site where the Stasi and CIA spied on each other, and heroic and tragic escape attempts were made.

Explore Berlin's government quarter and get a feel for the contemporary face of the city, its development since the fall of the Wall and its future direction.

Famous Walk
As first time visitors in Berlin this tour is an absolute must! What a great introduction to the city, its main attractions, as well as its history. Our tour guide, Jared, was excellent. A very knowledgeable gent with a quirky sense of humour. He gave some great advice on his personal favourites, restaurants, and general things to do in the area. My hubby and I would highly recommend this city walk.

Brilliant
Tarek was our guide for this tour. His knowledge and enthusiasm were palpable. He is a truly exceptional and talented young man. I learnt so much on this tour. He guided us straight past the crowds and took us to the pinnacles of the displays, the best viewing areas, and explained so much about the history of the museums, the people involved in their construction / revitalisation following much of their destruction and how many of the artefacts displayed had found their way to Berlin. His knowledge and ability to impart that knowledge regarding individual pieces and displays we focussed on for the tour was astonishing. This is a true gem of a tour, exceptional value and I wholeheartedly recommend It to anyone wanting a really personalised experience in a small group environment. After being on this tour with Tarek I just wish we had had more time in Berlin to see more of the the museums. This tour is a memory I will treasure and has lit an interest for me personally to delve much deeper into history and research further into much of what Tarek touched on in this tour. Thanks Tarek.

Day trip to †Dresden‡
We did the Day Trip to Dresden with Insider Tour Berlin. Our tour guide was Orit. We couldn't have asked for a better tour OR a better guide. Orit was incredibly knowledgeable about Dresden (and Berlin for that matter). Dresden is an amazing city - beautiful and interesting. I would totally recommend this tour.

Great Day Trip to Dresden with an excellent guide
During our recent trip to Berlin, we had the pleasure to go on a day trip to Dresden. Everything was well organized resulting in a very good trip with a fantastic guide from Israel and very good time management. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and most informative with his commentary about the areas that we travelled through and visited. He included lots of useful information without overwhelming the group with too many dates and extraneous details.
