Informative Insight
Our tour guide was Warren (Darren), the Irish guy. He was very knowledgable about the topic as it is what he is passionate about. He made sure all we all knew where we were going, so that no one stayed behind. He stopped along the way to introduce the Nazi era. He made sure he everyone understood what he was saying and was open to questions and comments. He told the history from an unbiased point of view leaving the information to our interpretation and conclusions. He delivered the information in such a way that made you feel you were there, maybe sitting in a college class, being immersed in all this history. He was wonderful.
Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Tour from Berlin
Just an amazing experience
Our guide was Beth, who has studied modern German history and presented information in a very clear way. She provides context into the wider nazi machine, how it came to be and how Sachsenhaussen fitted into this.

She alone made the tour what it was. She was nothing short of Sensational and cannot thank her enough.

Take good comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking and take food and drinks as there is nowhere to buy snacks or drinks.

We got more than we could have expected from this tour, so much to see and to think about - it was an insightful historical journey that made us fall in love with Berlin.

This was an excellent tour of Berlin which we thoroughly enjoyed.
My wife and I both felt that our guide was superb and extremely knowledgeable and it was he, introducing the rich history of Berlin that made all this happen.

Visiting Sachsenhausen Memorial is never an easy experience for anyone but feels like an important experience to have. For this reason producing an effective tour of the camp can only be a very difficult task. I had been on previous tours of both Sachsenhausen and Auschwitz and had been disappointed with those tours, the guides finding it difficult to pitch the tour at the right level, either struggling to explain what are some very difficult topics to process or being too blasé and light hearted for the place we were visiting.

Dennis, on the contrary, was excellent. Always comfortable and approachable whilst explaining the horrific events that had happened there and also managing to produce the occasional, appropriate light hearted moment to keep the tour from being too morose, it was pitched superbly. He explained at the beginning he was a history student and you could tell, the tour never feeling like a script but a display of his passion for the subject. His use of explaining the story of someone who was a prisoner there throughout the tour made the events that happened at the camp much easier to process and gave it an authenticity that's difficult to achieve with just facts and figures.

Two tours in one – great idea!
Myself and 3 friends just had 2 days on a business trip in Berlin and there was quite a lot we wanted to cover, including having some fun, so we thought we would give his two-in-one tour a try. We decided to go for the Kreuzberg Neukoelln Tour, which was a great day out. Seeing these great big graffiti murals and understanding the concept behind Berlin’s graffiti addiciton. But the highlight besides the amazing local food, was hearing stories of WWII while walking streets which were once walked by Nazi German SS Soldiers, quite frightenting but also a great chance to reflect. Favourite dish was definitely the handmade French desserts, delicate, crispy, so tasty – and what a lovely set-out cafe. I will highly recommend this walking tour to anyone that wants to do a tour in Berlin – everything is included in 6 hours!

Ideal Start to a stay in Berlin
This 4hour walk in Berlin provided an excellent history of Berlin both ancient and modern. It took in the essential sites and gave an idea of those we would like to return to and see in more detail. Ysanne was an excellent guide providing great detail and showing an immense historical knowledge. She coped well with all the questions thrown at her and had a way of referring back to things she had discussed earlier which was great to help remember detail. The walk ran over time due to the questions. If I had one complaint it was that the comfort break was after 3hours at least which meant that much of the time for the break was taken queuing for the toilet and for refreshments , coffees had to be drunk very quickly tto reume the walk and we were running late!Having said this I would highly rtecommend this walking tour

Great tour
I had a great tour! An amazing sunny day, a small group of five people, and one amazing guide named Anastasia. The amount of food is huge, especially after breakfast, and I could hardly finish! Great value for money! Anastasia has excellent historical knowledge, beyond being madly nice. I enjoyed the combination of the stories about the places and the taste of the food. This was my first tour during the trip, and it was a great opening. The variety of food was huge - sausages, falafel, donuts, beer and more - was Beyond my expectations.the meeting place is convenient to reach, and the finish point is full of public transportation. Booking the tour through the site was very easy to use. Thanks for a great tour, and continue to bring great guides like Anastasia!

I did the 4 walking 'discover berlin' tour on my first day in Berlin and I'm so glad I did it. Our guide was Lorna and she was fantastic. She had superb insight into the history and of course her witty humour complimented the overall experience as well. There is so much to cover in Berlin and this walking tour covers the main historical points and architectural sights (e.g. Brandenburg gate, site of Hitler's bunker, Pergamon museum, checkpoint Charlie). It's also a great way to get your bearings around the city- it was helpful as I was able to explore the city more on my own the next day. Lorna made a stop for lunch at a cute little German bakery which was perfect. A must do on your first day in Berlin and at €12 it's a bargain!

We had a great time on this really informative tour. Our Guide Beth was really great full of information and knowledge and that great skill to tell it all in a fun way while still being able to put across some or the more sombre moments in Berlins history. She left us with a load of information that we could use to decide what parts of Berlin we would like to delve into further.

I would highly recommend this tour for someone who has never been to Berlin before and will be advising anyone that I know travelling to Berlin to sign up. It was a cold Thursday in Berlin and Beth kept us all rolling along and interested for the whole time. Great tour time well spent.

I recently did the Discover Belin tour with Beth and could not recommend it enough. She was very knowledgable but interjected humor throughout, not making it seem like a boring history lesson. Beth was approachable and friendly, and knew the answers to any questions asked. In addition, she presented the information in a way that allowed me to clearly understand what was happening at the time which made the tour all the more powerful. I enjoyed the discussion that she sparked among the group at various points throughout the tour. In my opinion the tour is underpriced and you will not regret doing this tour!

I have been to Berlin many times and have taken most of the Original Berlin Walking tours, they are always excellent ! This one in particular was very special to me, as a gay Jewish man I was very interested in learning the history of gay and lesbians in Berlin. Our tour guide Finn was informative and passionate about the subject. He brought new light and understanding to the gay neighborhoods. No longer were the streets just filled with random gay bars, I left the tour with a deep understanding of the history and culture of the neighborhood. this is a must for Gay and lesbian travelers.

Outstanding tour - full of knowledge, tact & stories.
We had a memorial tour of Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp with Paul.

Paul made it interesting personal and enjoyable despite the somber subject matter.

We told him that the group (4 of us) were all Jehovah’s Witnesses and he pointed out everything that related to our interest in the site and made additional effort to find out extra information.

He was tactful and careful in telling us about the terrible things that happened but never avoided discussing the details when he needed to.

Paul is extremely knowledgable and friendly, you could not hope for a better tour guide.

Amazing Experience!
My Trends & Classics Tour was super delicious, informative and fun.
I got to explore places that I would have never come across by my own. We were a group of 5 which was perfect and tasted our way through the beautiful district of Prenzlauer Berg. Especially on a sunny day like ours, this is a great idea to get to know hidden places in Berlin and get to eat the best food (and coffee!). Thank you so much F&W for this trip and the knowledgable and sympathic guide Anastasia. Will definately recommend the tour to my friends and probably doing another one once I´m back in Berlin ;)

Ryan was amazing! Objective and informative
Our guide, the Scottish Ryan, is the man you should hope for when you visit Sachsenhausen. A perfect balance between speed, information, time for yourself, objectiveness, wit and thought provoking background. Due to us disappearing to find some food and ending up in another carriage on the way home, we couldn't thank him personally, so I hope my words of gratitude reach him this way. I have worked in tourism for about 20 years now and I usually dislike excursions and guides, but this man is such a pleasant exception. And my kids of 9, 12 and 14 also agreed with me. Thanks Ryan!

Highly Recommend
My husband and I toured the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. The groups are small (6 in our group) which gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions. Our guide, Paul, was extremely knowledgeable, answered our questions, dispelled myths, and provided important details to impart understanding of how and why these grave events took place. He went above and beyond our expectations to take care of us and make sure we were comfortable during the tour. The tour was in English and well worth the money. Thanks, Paul, and bless you in your future endeavors!
