City tours in a cult
Why locals love it
Trabant was East Germany’s standard car for more than 30 years. It ceased production in 1991 because it no longer met pollution and safety standards, but it quickly became a cult car. Trabi Safari gives you the opportunity to actually drive one while your guide sits in the back and explains the city to you.
Why you should visit it
As much as everyone in Western Germany laughed about the car after the fall of the wall (there were a lot of "Trabi" jokes), few have actually driven one. It´s a fun and special approach to explore the city. After the tour you get issued a special "Trabi Driving license" by the tour guides. Info: www.trabi-safari.de, +493030201030.
If you do a reservation beforehand you can choose the model you want to drive. There´s even a stretched limousine.
