What better way to start the day than with a hearty breakfast?! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s especially essential when you’re travelling. A good brekkie gives you enough energy to wander around the city for an entire day, only stopping for a quick smoothie or snack. Our Tel Aviv local Danniel has put together a list of his favourite breakfast spots in his hometown. Bon appétit!

1. Benedict – Serving breakfast 24/7

If you want a good hearty breakfast at any given time of day or night, this place may be one of your best options. They serve a variety of sweet and savoury breakfasts, from Israeli, English and American to French and even Mexican. Keep in mind that there may be a long line outside at busier times of the day.

2. Ethnahta

This is another place where breakfast is served all day long, so there’s no need to worry if you sleep in. The variety is excellent and the portions are huge. There are also plenty of vegan options available. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy, so don’t be surprised if you spend an hour or two here without even noticing the time passing.

3. Fresh Kitchen – All organic!

There’s a whole chain of “Fresh Kitchen” restaurants, however in the opinion of locals, the one on Dizengoff Street has the best location as well as a great terrace. The food here is made with high-quality organic produce, so naturally the taste is heavenly. The salads are to die for! While it’s not strictly a breakfast spot, it fits the bill since it opens at 8 am.

4. Louise Café – Health hub

Here, the aim is to serve food that’s as fresh and healthy as possible, therefore the chef handpicks all ingredients to ensure top-notch quality. They have an extensive breakfast menu, including many vegan and gluten-free options. Order a freshly squeezed fruit or vegetable juice to complete your delicious meal. Note that breakfast is only served until 12:50 pm.

5. Tamara Artik and Yogurt – Delicious frozen treats

Tamara has been making yummy fruit shakes for quite a few years now, and just recently started chilling them down to -18 degrees to make popsicles. The variety of flavours is endless and the best part is that they’re all 100% natural. There’s lemon-mint, pomegranate, raspberry-blueberry-coconut, ginger-lime and cucumber – just to name a few. If you’re in need of something a bit more nourishing, they also serve fresh and healthy breakfasts.
