This convent was perhaps the richest and most powerful of Bologna, as it was the seat of the much-feared Inquisition. After Napoleon, the complex was remarkably reduced. But inside the church you'll step in a sort of museum.

An extraordinary feature is certainly the ark that contains the mortal remains of San Domenico, made by famous renaissance sculptors form Tuscany, by Niccolò dell'Arca and completed by the divine Michelangelo. But there is more: the beautiful 16th-century choir; the sepulchers, the cloister.
