The ancient Jewish quarter is one of the most charming areas of the city center. The atmosphere created by its narrow streets, tiny windows and mysterious corners will drive you into a small village within a town. Artisan workshops and few nice cafes are nowadays contributing the make these few streets worth a visit.

Why you should visit it

We all acknowledge the recent sad history involving the Jewish community during the World War II. But, what a lot of people don't know, is that actually Jewish were settled in Bologna in the 6th century and lived imprisoned in this ghetto for 40 years. In fact, in 1593 the pope expelled them from the city.
