I’m a certified Tour Leader in Emilia Romagna and with me, you can discover the original charm and lively character of this fascinating city, get insider stories, discover hidden gems and local markets.
If it's true that the place where we are born says so much about us, then Bologna and generally my region Emilia Romagna represent my best business card. I love good food, good company and traditions, but at the same time, I consider myself a curious globetrotter.
This last aspect has led me to explore different cultures, languages, and countries: I've lived in Estonia, Spain, Germany, and Canada at different stages of my life. Of every place, I keep unique memories; this is because I have been fortunate enough to share my experiences with locals, and I acknowledge how this aspect can make a visit unique.

Description
Ferrara - designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 - is an enchanting result of Medieval and Renaissance art and architecture. The city's history is profoundly tied to that of the d'Este family, who dominated Ferrara between the 13th and 16th Centuries.
We'll meet at Bologna train station and, after a fast 30-minute train ride, we'll stroll through the charming streets & historical buildings of the city, like the early-16th-century Palazzo dei Diamanti (is so-called because it is faced with 8,500 small, pink-and-white marble diamond shapes), the majestic Estense Castle and the Duomo. We then experience the foodie side of the city, from an unusually shaped bread (Coppia), to a pumpkin pasta speciality, to the richest chocolate cake in Italy (Tenerina). You'll also have the chance to sip a glass of wine in one of the oldest osteria in the world, dating from 1435. To end the tour, you'll walk along unexplored corners of the old town and visit some historical "botteghe" (family-run shops) where you'll have the chance to buy other local products.
