In a city whose central park and harbor have been made iconic by the children's book, Make Way for Ducklings, it's no wonder that one of the favorite ways to get a sense of the city for tourists is a duck tour. Driving along the city roads, and entering the harbor, you, too can be amphibious to this region.
The tour guides are well versed in history, ecology, and humor. Even for those of us who've dwelled here for a long time, there are many strange facts and laughs to be had. It's also a great way to see the whole city and get into the Boston Harbor for couples, families, and larger groups.
Do this early in your trip to scope out the landmarks you think you want to see later.
