Why locals love it
Local celebrity chef, Barbara Lynch, has an empire taking over the Fort Point area of town. Below one of her restaurants, Sportello, you'll find the industrial, unassuming innovation known as Drink. Three U shaped bars (properly, "wells") connect below the windows. Behind the bar is where the magic happens--truly, as all bottles are hidden.
Why you should visit it
There is no cocktail list. When you sit at the well and a bartender asks what you're in the mood for, responses can range from "something with mezcal", to "something refreshing". Bitter, sweet, bright, a liquor you love or hate, and so on. Then the mixologist measures and connives a creation just for you. No drink is quite like one you've ever had.
Special tip
Mezcal can be hard to come by, so try it here! The bartenders have huge knowledge of world and historic drinks, so ask about what they're making you.
