Cambridge Oktoberfest is second only to Germany. With local restaurants and businesses set up for this street fair, it's no wonder the Honkfest parade is a true disruption to public space, with Mass Ave closed from Davis Square to Harvard Square. From street art and performers, to great food, and specialty beers, there's an indulgence for all.
Why you should visit it
Big band improv is not a regular experience in these parts, and so it is imperative to experience Honkfest at Oktoberfest should you be in town. The musicians are all dressed up and lively. And what better way to experience brass than with, say, a cold beer in one hand and local oysters in the other. It's also a great way to support local business.

Get to Harvard Square early for the best food and best chance at snagging a spot in one of the beer gardens.
