Why locals love it

The Museum of Fine Arts is one of the largest, comprehensive collections of art in America. With works from ancient Egypt through contemporaneity, there is something for everyone. Most famed for The Art of the Americas Wing, the building's architectural highlights are also a visit-worthy feature.

Why you should visit it

As for old works, the permanent collection is vast, with particular highlights in the American and Impressionist permanent exhibits. The MFA also hosts a variety of events and exhibits throughout the year. One of the best film festivals each fall is The African Film Festival hosted in the MFAs newer theatre.

Special tip

They host The Roxbury International Film Festival, which is dedicated to films by, for, and about people of color.

I love the Egyptian antiquities collection, the Asian art, the photography collection and that the MFA hosts one of the largest collections of impressionist paintings in the world.
