State park on the banks of the Charles

The Esplanade

Why locals love it

The esplanade is along the Boston side of the Charles River in the Back Bay area of the city. Whether you're biking, walking, or the like, this pristine skyline view is a tribute to New England in all seasons. For visitors without a car, for example, a stroll along the esplanade is a great way to be a leaf-peeper without leaving the city proper.
