The Middle East is a robust corner of Central Square. Housed within its many rooms are a variety of down-to-earth eats and sounds. The downstairs hosts a variety of live music shows--local and national. It's the kind of place music aficionados first hear bands like Kings of Leon or Cold War Kids before they become gigantic (at least for some ;)...)

A lot of these music venues have become quite pretentious over the years. The Middle East has kept its roots. The space itself has stayed wonky--meaning you can't quite remember how all of the rooms are connected depending on which door you enter through, but you the funhouse stays, always, a funhouse!
Tuesday nights tend to be great with "Bowery Boston" as curator, for you indie-music fans.
