Health conscious folks are about as common in Boulder as environmental activists and outdoor enthusiasts (very, that is). All enjoy shopping or simply browsing the biweekly Boulder Farmers Market, one of the state's largest and most popular. With vendors ranging from professional agriculturalists to weekend hobbyists, it's truly a community affair.
Strict rules for the products on sale mean this is the best venue around for buying sincerely local meat, cheese, honey, produce, sweets, baked goods and more. Sellers are passionate about their products and happy to offer recipe advice or gardening tips. Live music and prepared food add to the festive atmosphere, with abundant free samples.
In spring, summer and fall the market is held both Wednesday afternoons (quiter, so easier to shop) and Saturday mornings (more of a social event).
