"A catalyst for creative experiences"

Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art

Why locals love it

In their own heady words, the group of local artists who founded BMoCA in 1972 describe their gallery as " a catalyst for creative experiences through the exploration of significant art of our time". This small museum hosts an ambitious schedule of rotating exhibitions, along with a full schedule of lectures, films, performances and workshops.

Why you should visit it

The structure's a historic warehouse from 1906 right in the center of town, with a minimalist interior redesign. Exhibitions are generally enlightening, and demonstrate how smaller communities can engage with the global dialogue about the evolution of aesthetics, thought and perception. Summer months also see an outdoor theater staged out back!

Special tip

Admission is only $1 so you really may as well stop in, maybe during your visit to the vibrant farmers market held on the same street?
