Rock climbing is quite a sport- it gets you out in nature, helps you appreciate the life-saving power of simple tools, forces you to place ultimate trust in your fellows and to consider your mortality, all while getting a healthy dose of exercise and having a thrilling good time. Unfortunately, for most it's also a strictly seasonal endeavor.
Why you should visit it
In winter or when the weather just won't cooperate, locals head to the BRC to keep strong and sharp. The comparatively foolproof environment of a gym is also ideal for learning the basics, so when the sun does come around you can make the most of those summer days. BRC rents all the equipment you'll need, and even has autobelay devices.

Members can bring first-time visitors in for free, so try to find a friend!
