Cosmo's does a healthy amount of business in the afternoon and early evening, but the place really comes alive late at night. Scores of university students stumble in after binge drinking to binge just as gluttounously on huge, melty New York slices.
Why you should visit it
To get immediately acquainted with Boulder's college scene, do as the students do. Start out the night at a house party, progress to any of the town's many bars and after those close stop by Cosmo's. The primary clientele has always dramatically reduced their inhibitions before visiting, so people watching is great fun.
Special tip
You have to accompany your slice with the junky Boulder staple: spicy ranch dip. There's another location in South Boulder that also delivers.
