The unusual creation of this beverage by fermentation with a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) has ancient roots, and produces some suprisingly tasty flavors.

Why you should visit it
If kombucha strikes you as odd, withhold judgment until visiting the Rowdy Mermaid tasting room and you'll be greatly rewarded. The 'tea' is brewed with pure snowmelt and pleasantly effervescent, without suffering from the overly acetic tang some kombucha does. Variations on this base are delightfully enriched with fresh fruit and organic herbs.

Spring for a sampler flight- it affordable and leaves you feeling light on your feet. Kombucha actually makes a great hangover cure.
