Description
The tour starts in the Council Square with a short introduction into the history of the medieval citadel of Brasov. On our way to the Tâmpa Mountain you shall find out some interesting facts and legends about this amazing place.
The hike on the winding trails takes about one hour, one hour and a half, depending on how fit you are. Mount Tâmpa is almost 400 m above the city and it is a protected area. You will need good trekking shoes as the hill is rocky and quite slippery.
The walk is definitely worth it, there is no other place in Brasov to enjoy such a spectacular view of the city and its surroundings. And now imagine what it is like to have a picnic up there, surrounded by woods and mountains. Believe me, it is magic especially that you can also taste some delicious local foods that do not miss from a traditional outdoor lunch: fresh cheese, bacon to mention just a few.
We can also get to the top of Tâmpa Mountain by cable car and hike back down on the red trail, as you prefer.
