Early in the morning, we will meet at the main train station in Brașov, from where we will take a morning train to Zărnești.
After about 40 minutes, we will arrive in Zărnești, a small town situated at the foothills of the majestic Piatra Craiului mountain range. Then, we will proceed towards a beautiful valley, from where we can visit the Zarnesti Gorge, a 2 kilometer long narrow gorge with cliffs rising up to the sky, or skip and climb directly to the picturesque village of Măgura. This will be our first climb of the day, a 3 kilometer steep and twisting road through the dense forest.
We will ride up and down on idyllic meadows scattered with sheepfolds and isolated houses until we reach the beautiful Șirnea village, where we will serve a delicious traditional lunch and have some drinks in a local household.
A nice tarmac road will then take us up to the main road, from where we'll have a fast descent to Bran, with its famous castle which inspired Bram Stoker in his work, Dracula.
From Bran, we can choose to go to Zărnești and take an afternoon train back to Brașov or we can ride our bikes all the way to Brașov.
