Diana was a wonderful tour guide. She showed us parts of Centru that we hadn't yet visited, explained everything well and in excellent English, and we just had a really, really fabulous time. She customized the tour a little bit for us and was very willing to meet our needs (when we need a moment to rest, she found a great cafe for us; when we wanted to go a little longer, we just paid a little extra; when we wanted to stop for lunch, she helped us with the menu and explained some things about the local dishes). She was very flexible, a kind and informed lady, and we just really enjoyed the experience. Will definitely be doing one of Diana's tours again when we return to Brașov!

Description

New in town, eager to explore downtown Brasov and you would like some company? Then this tour is perfect for you: you will see the main landmarks of Brasov, hear the legends of the city, discover interesting things about Brasov and Romania, find out about the best restaurants and local attractions.

The most exciting part of the tour is a walk in the forest behind the medieval walls of the citadel of Brasov for you to enjoy a great panoramic view of the city.

The tour starts in Piata Sfatului, the heart of the old medieval Brasov.

Do you know that Brasov was founded more than 800 years ago?

Who were the Teutonic Kinghts and what does the word ''Transylvania'' mean?

What about the Romanian district Schei and the groups of 'Juni' (young men) who live outside the walls of the ancient fortress of Brasov?

What do the four small corner turrets on the Catherine gate mean?

What did life look like in medieval times in Brasov and what did the fortification system of the city consist of?

Here are just some of the questions we are going to answer together during the tour.

Are you ready?

I will be right here, waiting for you, too!
