Get lost for a while in a forest!

Devínska Kobyla

Why locals love it

A forested hill at the South-eastern edge of Bratislava represents a favourite free-time zone with hikers, bikers, family groups and nature conservationists who come here all year round. Its peak (514m.a.s.l) is the highest natural elevation of Bratislava with a spectacular view of Devín castle and the confluence of Morava and Danube rivers.

Why you should visit it

You can start your hike from the side of Dúbravka borough where you will find ‘Villa Rustica‘– remains of Roman baths. Then, at the top of Devínska Kobyla you will come accross impressive ruins of former military base that remind us of the Cold War.

Special tip

Slide down from the top of the hill to Devínska Nová Ves borough to discover Sandberg (a sand hill) – a world known locality for its Neogene fossils.
