Slovakia is a country with an unexpectedly high density of castles and castle ruins, hundreds of which are hidden in Carpathian forests. They were built to protect against Tatar invasions in 13th century, serving for the next 500 years.
During this 6-hour tour, you’ll explore two castle ruins:
1. Pajštún Castle stands proudly above the Little Carpathians and offers splendid views. It was destroyed by Napoleon.
2. Plavecký Castle served as a fortress from 1256–1703. It offers views to the forested Záhorská lowland.
A one-hour hike is included at both locations. Picturesque surroundings and a drink at a local pub are included, too!
There is an option to do an enlongered tour to 4 castles - on demand.
