Michael provided a wonderful day of sightseeing along the Small Carpathian Wine Route for our group of six. Based on our list of possible sites, he planned a personalized tour that included a visit to The Red Stone Castle, tastings and tours at two outstanding wineries, a stop in Modra to purchase pottery, and a delightful lunch. A fabulous day!

Michael extended door to door service, picking us up at our holiday villa in Trencianske Teplice. We found him to be very attentive to our needs and an excellent driver, making for a stress free day. Michael even drove us to a Shopping Mall to purchase a man's shaver on our return journey........definitely above and beyond the required services of a tour guide. If you are looking for an easy way to explore western Slovakia, you definitely should contact Michael Pohancenik!

Description

We’d like to invite you on a tour through the colourful villages and small towns – Svätý Jur, Pezinok, and Modra, for example – that lie in the foothills of the Small Carpathian Mountains, where the most famous producers of top-class Slovak wines have served locals and kings for centuries.

The tour begins with a visit to Hrad Červený Kameň (the Red Stone Castle), the former residence of the noble Palffy family. You’ll take a tour with a local guide, and discover the largest wine cellar in Central Europe. You’ll also see a unique collection of arms and paintings, and a beautiful garden with both white and colourful peacocks roaming around.

You’ll then stop for lunch at a traditional wine cellar restaurant where you’ll be able to try local specialities.

Afterwards, you’ll visit one of the most famous Slovak wine producers – either Elesko or Karpatská Perla, depending on the date – to see their cellars and taste some of their best wines.

Great trip to Melk, Hallstatt and Salzburg.
We booked a day trip from Vienna to Salzburg, Melk and Hallstatt with like a local. Peter was our guide and he was very informative and interesting. He was nice and kept our comfort a priority! Hallstatt was beautiful out of the three. We spent the most time there as the beauty of that town couldn’t be summed in one hour. We ended up taking an extra hour cz we weren’t done with Salzburg in time. However Peter was great throughout.

Great & wonderful day away from Vienna
A long but wonderful day out at the 3 aforementioned beautiful towns from Vienna. Our friendly & excellent driver, Peter picked 8 of us up on the dot at 8am and guided us to the 3 locations, providing us information & tips about each location. Although the time spent at each place was short, it was enough to see the most important sights and do come shopping too. All in all, I will highly recommend Like a Local Guide for day tours from Vienna.
Great Day Trip From Vienna
My family and I recently spent several days in Vienna. The highlight of our trip was the day tour we did of Melk, Hallstatt and Salzburg. Our driver, Peter was extremely punctual and allowed us to spend our time on the things that we specifically wanted to do. My wife and daughter are obsessed with The Sound of Music and both Peter and our local guide in Salzburg were great at pointing out specific locations from the movie. Hallstatt was busy with tourists and even though we had to fight some intermittent rain, the beauty was just as advertised. What a great day!!!
