A
Best way to transit between European cities
It was the perfect way to kickstart my trip to Budapest! Wish I had done this for other routes Tour guide: Andrea (HU) Andrea never ran out of interesting trivia and engaging stories from Hungary's history. In my next few days in Budapest, I went on a handful of other tours in the city, and I already knew most of what would be said in the intros to Budapest & Hungary! All thanks to what Andrea had taught us during our Sidetrip tour. The hidden gem in this tour is a small synagogue and memorial in Szentendre that I would never have found if I had just gone by what TripAdvisor or travel blogs said. I truly appreciate that Andrea devoted time to discuss the history of the Jewish in Hungary, and made the effort to ensure that we got our facts straight (e.g. the location of the "Shoes on the Danube" memorial isn't actually where the atrocities being referred to happened). Driver: Tomas (HU) Tomas so kindly brought us to a view point with stunning (and crowd-free) vistas of Esztergom [which we were told not all drivers on this tour do]. He notably did this despite some unexpected traffic on the road. I felt safe the whole time during the drives, plus we made it to Budapest on schedule. Vehicle: icing on the cake :P it's superb It was clean, looked fairly new and well maintained, spacious and comfortable inside, and had seat belts for everyone.
Bratislava to Budapest One-Way Sightseeing Bus Tour
Sweet Tour, worth the money!
What was out of anyone's control: We had bad luck and booked our tour on one of the coldest days of recent history (down to -14° C), so we couldn't take the Skodas - it just too cold. Definitely not our guide's fault. Instead we got to do the tour with a VW Caravan from 92.

Having said that, this tour was amazing and I'd recommend it to everyone! Our guide Peter knew a lot about the city, gave the tour a personal touch with his stories and (for this kind of tour not unimportant) drove us safely around town, in spite of the weather conditions.

I specifically like how Peter is interested in ruins and abandoned buildings (I am too) and knows where to find them. They are getting fewer, sadly.

I can only imagine how much cooler it would be with warm weather and in the retro cars. Seems I've to take the tour again some time ;)

If you get the chance, take the tour. Period.

An interesting experience
We had a lovely walk with several dogs during our time in Bratislava. I am not very fit, so we did 2 shorter walks instead of the usual longer hike in the forest. This was great and it also meant that we could walk a different dog on each walk.
My only small criticism is that the Pound chooses the dogs that need walking, so you don't really choose the dog you want. We walked some really strong dogs who were challenging to start with but did settle down.
The forest scenery was lovely (we went in autumn) and it was so lovely to see families and groups of teenagers giving up their time to walk and socialise these dogs.
I would recommend it.
Happy Dog Forest Hike in Bratislava
Three hours of non stop laughs
If you are looking for something different to do on holiday, then I would suggest doing this. It was such a nice experience to walk for three hours in the beautiful forest park with Erich as a guide. It was mentally relaxing, and we couldn’t stop laughing for the whole trek. Erich is very friendly with a good grasp of the English language. The dogs were pulling throughout the whole trek, which made the whole experience funny. I totally recommend this experience to someone who loves dogs and wants to see the greener part of Bratislava! Well done Erich.
Happy Dog Forest Hike in Bratislava
Highlight of our holiday. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Whether you're a dog lover, a trekking enthusiast, or just want to get a good local knowledge of Bratislava, Erich and his Dog walk tick all the boxes. From the very start we felt extremely welcome as Erich was incredibly friendly and very approachable. The trek itself was picturesque and the dogs were very happy and eager to get going and were delighted to be around us with no resistance to us walking them. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Bratislava and we will definitely be back in the future.
Happy Dog Forest Hike in Bratislava
A great experience!
We really enjoyed the dog walking tour. Erich was a brilliant guide - he was very friendly and had lots of local knowledge of the area and of Slovakia in general which was very interesting. The dogs were lovely and quite energetic, and it was great to be able to help the animal shelter, which we got to look around after the tour. It was nice to be able to take a break from the city and walk around the forest, and we had a nice break with a drink and snack. Overall, a brilliant tour!
Happy Dog Forest Hike in Bratislava
Sustainable tourism at its best.
See the beautiful green side of Bratislava, help a local charity shelter, and make a new little friend while you're at it. Nothings better than seeing happy dogs, so me and my partner jumped at this opportunity. Even though we were off season, the forests were calming and serene, and Erich was helpful and flexible for our arrival while also being friendly and knowledgeable during the walk. Would strongly recommend for anyone who is remotely active or likes animals.

Great way to see and learn about Bratislava
Erich was a great guide, and the "off the beaten path" tour delivers. He provides details and personal stories which help an outsider grasp some of the intersection of history, politics, religious life, and relationship among Slovakia and neighboring countries. On this tour, we saw details that are not mentioned in my guide books and offers granular detail which helped us get a lived-in sense of how a local experiences this city. Thanks Erich!

If you love cheese, this is the perfect tour.
Nothing is worse than being hungry in a country you can't speak the language, which is why this tour is perfect. Erich is a very knowledgeable local guide who shows you around the markets, answers your questions on all things Bratislava and Slovakia, and treats you to local delicacie; from cheeses and meats to local brandies and blackcurrant wine. Perfect opportunity to live like a local and have an authentic meal.
Bites & Sights Bratislava Food Tour
One of the best tours we have ever done!
It was really a highlight during our stay in Bratislava! We enjoyed every second of this tour, something innovative and informative where one learns about the traditional food and beverages of Slovak people. Erich (the guide) was a great tour guide, sharing all his knowledge about the Slovaks and it shows that he loves doing this job. The price is very cheap compared to other food tours. Highly recommended!

So neat!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dog hike. It’s great when you are traveling, missing your dog, and wanting to give back to a shelter.
The dogs were excited to be out in the woods and were fun to be with.
Erich was great. He was flexible to work with our schedule and delightful to be with.
I highly recommend this activity if you are a dog lover.

Fantastic alternative view of Bratislava
My husband, 15yr old son and I loved our tour with Juro. We were met in an original 1971 Skoda 100 - such a cool little car. We learnt so much about Bratislava that we would not have known or seen otherwise. Juro kept us entertained the whole trip. We would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.
