Brighton Pier

Brighton Pier

Why locals love it

Its a delightfully tacky and quintessentially Brighton pastime since 1899: playing a few of the 2p machines, admiring the views on free deckchairs or strolling through the noisy arcades. Go in the evening- less crowds and the sun setting over the West Pier is beautiful!

Why you should visit it

Love it or hate it the pier is a must-see, and its free to walk around. There is something for most tastes: a chance to be victorious at the coconut shy, trying infamous pink Brighton Rock (minty hard candy sticks), or going on a rickety old ride or two. Kitschy shabby fun!

Special tip

don't buy food on the pier, its pretty expensive and uninspiring- there are plenty of good places to eat and drink back on land!
