The St James is a small pub on the main street in Kemp Town that serves tasty inexpensive Thai food. It is also home of Tuaca, a liquor from Italy which has cult status in Brighton and is a local favourite. You can now buy it elsewhere but the St James was the first place in Brighton to 'discover' it- there is a plaque on the wall to prove it!
A good wholesome pub with a nice friendly atmosphere. As well as Tuaca, they serve over 50 types of rum from around the world! The Thai food is excellent and authentic, the menu is impressive and they do a mean green curry that could rival any Thai restaurants.
Try Tuaca (too-akka) with apple juice. Be sure to pronounce it right!
