This square always has been the political heart of Bruges. And with the oldest town hall of the low lands and the Basilica of the Holy Blood still one of the highlights of Bruges. All major buildig styles that we know from history are to be found at this one square.
Why you should visit it
Although it can be very busy on the square as well, it usually is much better than the Market Square. Even in summer it sometimes is still possible to find an empty bench and just sit down do enjoy the square and the people passing by.
Special tip
On most days you'll find a food truck on the square selling the best waffles in the world.
