Why locals love it

Keywords: cupcakes. Coffee. Bagels. Brunch. Freshly squeezed juices. You name it, they probably have it. Cafe de la presse managed to capture a Brussels/New York feel in just one space; the result? It is always crowded with the hippiest, coolest people. Go there for a job interview, go there for a first date. Just go at 7am, to grab a seat.

Why you should visit it

Free wifi, free press, friendly staff (albeit not the best organized), free board games, different ambiance, occasional "vide dressing" parties.

Special tip

Try any of the homemade cakes for best value for money. Add one of their typical Italian sodas (called Cinotto) for a different feel.

Nicely decorated, if you are here for the EU and such, not a bad place to stop.

The prices have increased (6 euros for a lentil salad is maybe a bit exaggerated) and unfortunately not the quality of service, the staff is always way too busy and sometimes it takes 20 minutes to get to the counter and another 20 to have your order served... Yet the fruit juices are good, as the chocolate cake but the cookies and other cakes as well as the muffins are too dry and not very flavorful. The cupcakes from Lilicup (shop near Place du Chatelain) are good but why on earth are they staying the whole day (week?) on top of the counter, under the neons and not in a fridge or at least under a glass cover? To finish on a It is a cosy place to have a drink, read your newspaper, a nice book, meet friends etc.
