Hi. I will be in Hague in early October and would love to visit Brussels for a day-trip. Can you recommend a fairly relaxed itinerary (10am-8pm)? I would like to experience the local lifestyle, with light sightseeing. Thank you!

There is a train running from Rotterdam (very close to the Hague) to Brussels, so that would be very comfortable to get there. In Brussels, don't forget to visit the Royal Gallery (Koninginnegalerij)

Start at the Central Station, walk up to the Mont des Arts where you have a lovely view. For an even better view, go the the MIM (museum) and take the elevator to the top floor (free) for a stunning view over the city. Walk in the direction of the Zavel/Sablon, crossing the Koningsplein. Follow your walk in the direction of Poelaert square for another nice fow and take the public elevator to go down to the Marolle neighborehood. In the morning you'll find a nice fleamarket at the Vossensquare. Now walk back in the direction of the city centre, passing the Manneke Pis statue and finnish at la Grande Place. You can also extend your walk by going to Place Sainte-Catherine.
Here you have the route on a map :)
