Description

Indulge in Brussels' culinary delights while doing some sightseeing. Venture past the major sights and along the way : stop at local restaurants, cafés and taverns to savor Brussels' specialities including mussels, frites, beefstew, waterzooi, waffles, chocolate and beer. All in.

The tour begins at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Grand Place and continues on to the Royal Galleries and Manneken Pis.

Brussels is famous for its beer and chocolate, so beer and chocolate tasting is also included in the itinerary. Even if you’re not a big beer fan, we have beers to suit your tastes. You’ll sample non-commercial beers with an ascending alcohol percentage (up to 11%), and premium chocolates reaching 80% darkness. Don’t be misled by the word “darkness” – it doesn’t imply bitterness and is much sweeter than you’d expect.

You’ll also visit an authentic local restaurant to sample Brussels’ most common dishes: mussels and frites, beef stew and waterzooi. The tour ends with a mouth-watering waffle served with delicious cream, caramel and strawberries.

Great Time, Excellent Tour of the City
We had a great time! Great tour guide, very informative! Got to experience the best of Brussels food and see some great sites! Great value for what it includes!
Great Tour
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the food and beer tastings were excellent!
Great food and nice walking tour
Excellent tour
Gorgeous food, interesting history, and a gracious tour guide--no one could ask for more. We thoroughly enjoyed this small group tour with Avo. The first part of the tour was a brief history of Brussels followed by a visit to a small, historic bar where we enjoyed lambic beer. Next up a bit more sightseeing followed by a lovely, and very large, lunch. Then more sightseeing mingled with chocolate tasting, waffles, and more chocolate. The tour is a delightful way to be introduced to Brussels and Brussels cuisine. Highly recommend!
Knowledgable your guide and great food
We really struggled to find a food tour in Brussels (apart from just beer and chocolate!), this tour was recommended via a blog & I'm so glad we found it.

Our guide Avo was so knowledgeable about the history of Brussels & obviously enjoyed taking tours. Our tour even over ran and he was very relaxed about the additional time he gave up for us (mostly due to food service times). I would highly recommend this tour, it was so interesting, we ate lots and it gave us great ideas for the rest of our stay.

Thanks Avo!
Not more than a guidebook could tell you
For the price I was expecting a bit more, I'm sorry to say. For example, the tastings were okay (the mussels were excellent) at rather touristy spots (the whole point, I thought, was to get "insider" discoveries) and the chocolate part was tasting one truffle (a very good one, but still). The beer tasting was informative and our guide was helpful, but overall I didn't really learn anything I hadn't already read in my (5-year-old) guide book.
Fantastic tour that hits all the highlights of Brussels!
This tour is the perfect combination of food, fun, and facts. Not only was our guide knowledgable about the history of the city, he was acutely aware of the current hits and misses in terms of food, culture, and shopping. He smoothly guided us through historical highlights and was spot-on with his food, beverage, and chocolatier guidance. This tour is packed with eats and drinks. All 5 of the ladies in our group were so full that we skipped dinner that night. And we were happy to do so because the food we ate on the tour was so fantastic. We got insights in to how to navigate the streets of Brussels like a local and it made us all excited to continue exploring on our own. You'll want to come back to Brussels for more. At least our group does! If you like history and you like to eat and drink, you won't be disappointed with this tour!
Our review is a clear 5 of the tour! Lara (hope I spelled it right) was an amazing guide which made the tour amazing! Some feedback:

1. It could help to for example have a flag at the starting point to make it more clear where the meeting point is.

2. The tour felt very personal and not something Lara "had" to do. It felt like she really wanted to do this for us which made it more interesting.

3. Lara was really knowledgeable and could answer every question asked. She is really the right person for the job!

This was easily the highlight of our trip! Keep up the good work and thank Lara from us!
5 stars!
We did not realize how much there would be, so it was a great surprise.
I LOVED my tour!
I LOVED my tour as there was just one more person other than me in this tour and I personally don't like too much of crowd. Food in Brussels was outstanding and just made my day. Though not much of a beer person, I loved the light beer that the guide bought for us. Best part of the tour was that the guide was quite friendly and did not rush to finish the tour and on the contrary tour finished about 1 hour after the stated time. We had a great time with amazing food, light conversations, good scenery and knowing each other better. I think this tour was well worth it. I would recommend this tour to all those who want to visit Brussels, are short on time and want the best experience in that limited amount of time. Also I felt that the guide was quite flexible and tried to meet our requirements properly upon request, hence here's a suggestion for future customers looking to book a tour - If you have any particular interest in a type of beer then let the guide know about it as he would get it for you accordingly.
It was a bit disappointing.
I was hoping for more beer tasting and more chocolate tasting. The guide was talking too much. And too much talk that was not relevant. A guide must talk slower and give the participants time to digest what he says. The food was very good and nice to visit the small places in the alleys. I will not recommend this tour to my friends. It was not what I had expected.
We were taking a break from Paris and took the train to Brussels for a day. We decided to do the food tour which included mussels, cheese, beer, waffles and chocolate. Our tour guide was amazing! We walked about the main square, stopping in various shops and restaurants. She did an excellent job showing us the city and giving us the scoop on the local life and also where to avoid. She recommended a restaurant for dinner that night, which was incredible.
It was a great way to spend one day in Brussels.
Tip - don't each lunch before the 1P meet. You will get plenty of food and drink over the 4 hour tour.
My friends and I (all college students) went on this tour today. This tour was amazing an totally worth every cent we spent. You get to taste beer, mussels, waffles, and chocolate! You get to learn about the city all the while enjoying the highlights of the cities food! I recommend this tour!!
