Local

Living in the center of Brussels between travellers, students and expatriates inspired me to share my passion for cooking. The knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients helped me in refining Belgian recipes and to explain the history/cultural significance of these dishes.

I love discovering ingredients and spices while traveling around Europe and Asia. The harmony of guests around a well-decorated table and enjoying together the dishes made with love provides a kind of positive energy. A flow of happiness!

A must do in Brussels
Such fun! A small group size makes this class very hands on. We learned so much and we can’t wait to try it at home. Great communication, highly recommended if you’re visiting Brussels.
Loved this class.
Loved this cooking class and cant wait to try it out on my family. Such a friendly host and so organised and the quality and portions were excellent.
Highlite of Brussels
Highly recommend this class, excellent quality ingredients and so much food. Very generous portions offered and we learnt a lot. Such fun and a highlight of our holiday. Thank you for such a fun morning.
Heavenly
Oh my goodness! I cannot day enough good things about this experience. We were treated so well and felt very special. And the food... mmmmmmmm. Best mussels I have ever had!!! Don’t miss this experience. It is totally worth it!!
Amazing DINNER
Simply put, the dinner we had was fantastic! When we arrived, the host was so gracious, happy tp have us in her home, ready for us to get started to help her cook the meal. We enjoyed the conversation with her and learned a lot about local culture as well as cooking mussels, frites AND amazing homemade mayonnaise (who knew mayonnaise could taste this way!!) The meal was the best we had in Brussels and we highly recommend this cooking class. Also, the ambiance was so lovely. She house was clean and the table was set as though we were at a restaurant. Only feedback would be to have a sign outside to find their door as it was a bit difficult to figure out where actually to enter their house from the street. Overall this is a FIVE STAR evening!!
AWWSOME! Best place,
A perfect - and delicious - afternoon with friends
Iria and Else are so welcoming and really know how to show their guests a good time. We ate well and learned a lot. Homemade mussels, fries (and even mayonnaise!), paired with a delicious wine... It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. You can wander the streets, have a few beers, chocolate and fries, but this class is the best way to get to know Belgian culture. And, if you're thinking about trying mussels & fries while you're in Brussels, skip the touristy restaurants and sign up for this class. You'll get the 5 star treatment and will not regret it!!
Simply the best
This was the second event I attended hosted by these two superwomen. A crowd of 8 guests from 3 continents, we were spoiled with a few amuses bouche, followed by a three-course meal. The main attraction was the delicious mussels, accompanied by homemade fries and mayonnaise. As mussels have to swim, we had some very nice which wines. We ended the evening with a few (too many) shots of a variety of liquor. The ladies did not disappoint and were the perfect hosts. I'd say: rush to their next event!
Warm welcome and nice home-cooked specialties
Lovely hosts who made every effort to treat their guests to a special evening. Everything was homemade, down to the delicious herbed mayonnaise.
When is the next dinner?
It was third time (or fourth?) at Iria and Else, and surely not the last one! The food was great: several appetizers, a very original and tasty flan with shrimps, followed by "I don't have words to describe" the main dish – so tasty mussels and yummy homemade fries, very nice dessert and drinks. Oh yes, the very drinks... Very good company as well. Old and new friends, not to mention Iria and Else – difficult to compete with them as hosts! Looking forward to the next one!
