Eclectic selection of
Muzeul Colecţiilor de Artă 9
Why locals love it
Established in the 1980s from donations of private collectors, the Museum of Art Collections presents an exquisite selection of paintings, sculptures, furniture and decorative objects. The most celebrated Romanian painters are well represented, but you can also admire Western and Oriental pieces of art.
Why you should visit it
The museum is housed by one of Bucharest’s great palaces, “Romanit”. Built in 1812 after an earthquake devastated the city in 1802, it is among the first modern architecture buildings of the capital, in Neoclassical style. The collections are organized chronologically and by art trends in all the three palace wings.
Entrance is free on the first Wednesday of each month.
