Oldest public garden
in Bucharest
Parcul Cişmigiu 23
Why locals love it
The perfect place to relax at any time of the day: quiet alleys, benches, open-air cafés, a great playground for children. Boats and paddle boats are available for rent in the summer, so you can also take a romantic ride on the lake.

Why you should visit it
Originally designed by the German landscape gardener Wilhelm Meyer in the 1850s as an English garden, Cişmigiu is still a favorite place of walk for many Bucharesters. As a charming detail, the oldest newspaper kiosk in Bucharest can be seen near the entrance from Bd. Regina Elisabeta.
Special tip
The lake is transformed into a skating rink in the winter. You can rent ice skates and enjoy a cup of mulled wine after skating.
