Paul grew into a hit among bucharesters due to the quality of its products. I remember the prices used to be intimidating at first, but now almost everyone has come to think their goodies are worth some more lei than the average, at least from time to time.
All the pastry at Paul is really tasty but I recommend the apricot anglaise. Also, if you decide for the venue on Regina Elisabeta, you get a large view towards the street which is especially pleasant during cold evenings.
